Preparation for participation in the Au-Pair program

Dear bunny, there are many nuances in the Au-Pair program that you do not know about and for which you are not ready. So with the view to help you not to make mistakes, have a successful au-pair year and achieve your goals – we will prepare you with high quality and will be always there during your participation in the Au-Pair program.

Our professionals will work with you. All our team consists of former Au-Pair members. At first, they also doubted and worried, then they began to prepare for participation in the program and communicate with other au-pairs, believed that it was real and legal, went through interviews with families, received visas, spent a year or more in Europe, got a super-positive experience and returned work for their favorite agency.

Our team has already gone the way you are just getting started. We understand your fears, worries, mistrust and are ready to share with you all the knowledge that we have gained ourselves during participation in the Au-Pair program.

And now we will tell you how the training program goes

First, we get to know you and then we sign an agreement. Previously  we will send you a contract to get acquainted with the explanation of its points. We answer all your questions and only then sign it.

After signing the contract and receiving payment, the curator of the training program will contact you. The curator gives you access to an online training course: video tutorials, materials for preparing a profile, preparing for an interview with a host family, working with children, preparation for the embassy and adaptation.

From that moment, you start your preparation with the au-pair manager and mentor together.

  1. In the first step, a mentor helps you prepare your profile. The profile consists of an application form, a presentation letter, a childcare reference, a photo profile and a video presentation. The profile should show your host family the benefits of inviting you. The profile should reflect your strengths and the necessary competencies to participate in the Au-Pair program. The profile must be prepared with high quality, because it will give the host families the first impression of you, after which the family should invite you for an interview.

It takes 1 week to prepare a profile.

  1. In the second step, the mentor prepares you for the interview with the host family. You also study materials for preparing for an interview, which include: instructions for quality and technical preparation, information on family profile analysis, questions and answers to interviews, rules for effective communication, social roles of au-pair, categories of families, soft and hard competence of au-pair.

It takes 1 week to prepare for the interview.

  1. After preparing for the interview, the au-pair manager will send your profile to the host families.
  2. While you are waiting for your family, you are actively preparing to participate in the program. You attend seminars, thematic online meetings, experience exchange meetings. You study materials that will help you to adapt more easily, understand the physiological and psycho-emotional needs of children of different ages, with the purpose to easily and quickly find a common language with them.
  3. When we have a family who wants to invite you for an interview, the au-pair manager organizes an online meeting and helps in communicating with the family (by correspondence). Our managers are often present during online meetings to help you and your family immediately understand each other’s expectations.
  4. When the family is ready to invite you, the stage of preparation of documents for the embassy and / or for departure begins, if you do not need to obtain a visa for your au-pair country.

At this stage, your mentor and au-pair manager will help you prepare a package of documents and prepare you for an interview at the embassy. They will also prepare you for adaptation, so that the trip to another country is as less stressful as possible and you do not forget anything.

  1. The most exciting, wonderful and at the same time the most stressful period begins. You have come to your host family, everyone is happy for you, they have been waiting for you for a long time, the children have surrounded you and are asking thousands of questions. At this moment, your adaptation begins. The easier and faster it passes, the more comfortable your whole au-pair year will be.

A mentor will work with you for the first 2 weeks. She will help you organize the registration process and obtain an id-card (temporary residence permit for au-pair), tell you how to open a bank account, get health insurance and sign up for language courses. And she will also help in psychological and household adaptation, because it is important for us to reduce your stress from moving to a new country. During your au-pair year, you will have the opportunity to discuss any difficulties in our au-pair support groups and get feedback from managers, psychologists and experienced au-pairs in the format of group consultations.

Our preparation will add more confidence to you, reduce fears and anxiety before starting a new stage in your life. And we will be there to rejoice for you, support and help.

From this moment your wonderful au-pair time begins. During this time, you will learn a foreign language, improve your skills and acquire new competencies for yourself.

You will make many friends from different countries of the world with whom you will travel together. New opportunities and perspectives will open up to you: go to study, find a job and move to live in Europe.

Please choose a convenient messenger for communication, write “Hello” and our au-pair consultants will answer all your questions.
